Emma Hennig is an actor and artist born on Treaty 6 Territory (St. Albert, Alberta). Excited about theatre at a very young age, Emma has always been passionate about storytelling and its ability to connect people.
During her training at the National Theatre School of Canada she has had the pleasure of working with instructors and directors including Tim Welham, Jessica B. Hill, Jackie Maxwell, Danielle Irvine, Christine Quintana, Julia Course, Jivesh Parasram, Eda Holmes, and Jessica Carmichael. Productions at NTS include: Twelfth Night directed by Danielle Irvine, Maybe Not Tomorrow directed by Christine Quintana and Jivesh Parasram, and most recently, Metamorphoses directed by Eda Holmes.
Prior to her time at NTS, Emma studied at the University of Alberta (2016-2020) and performed in the Citadel Theatre’s Young Acting Company (2019-2020). It was in Edmonton that she began to hone her craft, working with excellent artists including David Kennedy, Mike Kennard, and Doug Mertz.
Emma is particularly excited by the development of new work and devised theatre. She strives to hold community, collaboration, and kindness always at the heart of her artistic practice.
