Rebecca Cuddy is a citizen of the Métis Nation of Ontario. She is an established operatic mezzo-soprano and has performed across Canada with major opera companies including the Vancouver Opera, Pacific Opera Victoria, Regina Symphony and the Canadian Opera Company.
Her residency at NTS encouraged her to begin exploring theatre creation, direction, acting and playwriting. While training, Rebecca studied with Matjash Mrozewski (Directing), Yvette Nolan and Nick Carpenter (Playwriting), Jani Lauzon (Mask and Playwriting), Tim Welham (Shakespeare), Fiona Byrne (Introduction to the Actor’s Process) and Clea Minaker (Puppetry and Performing Objects). Additionally, she was vocal coach for the 2022 NTS production of Cabaret.
Rebecca makes her Stratford Festival debut in 2022 as Assistant Director to Alisa Palmer on Hamlet-911 and is taking part in the Langham Directors’ Workshop. She is excited to continue her work in new theatre and opera development and is grateful to be graduating from NTS as a more well-rounded, passionate and confident artist.
In addition to her work in the performance arts, Rebecca is a visual artist (waapamishoofinearts.com) and enjoys rock climbing, spending time with friends and family and sudoku.
