Henry Beasley (he/him) is a multidisciplinary theatre artist born and raised in New Westminster, British Columbia, traditional territory of the Qayqayt First Nation. He is drawn to any culturally relevant work that challenges, offers the chance to learn something new, or presents an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the human experience.
One of Henry’s favourite accomplishments at NTS was the development of Jam Circle—an initiative for students of all programs and walks of life to practise playing music in a group setting to expand their musical training and build musicality as members of an ensemble.
During his time at the National Theatre School of Canada, Henry has worked with wonderful mentors who have been instrumental in his artistic growth, including artists Jani Lauzon, Tim Welham, Brian Dooley, Mike Payette, Brenda Bazinet, Dennis Cahill, Anita Nittoly, David Chinchilla, Floydd Ricketts, Laurel Thomson, Rebecca Harper and Alisa Palmer. Prior to NTS, Henry spent three seasons at Chemainus Theatre Festival and toured across Western Canada. Outside of school, he has worked with many incredible artists such as Julie Tomaino, Barbara Tomasic, Peter Jorgensen, Dean Paul Gibson and Melissa Morris.
Theatre is vital, but cooking is his true passion.
