Matt Lalonde is a theatre sound designer and practitioner based out of Toronto. His recent sound works include The Bad Mitzvah (Toronto Fringe, 2023), Peggy Pickett See’s The Face of God (SoulPepper academy, 2022), The Boy Who Cried (Toronto Fringe 2021) and The City by the Sea (Theatre Passe Muraille, 2019). Matt Lalonde holds a bachelor degree from the University of Toronto where he graduated in Theatre Studies and English. Matt as well graduated from The National Theatre School (NTS) in Theatre Production Design and Technical Arts. His work at NTS includes Sound design for Antigonick, Directed by Ruth Madoc-Jones, Sound Design for Trojan Kids, Directed by Allison Moria Kelly, Video Design for 2023 Creation Project, Directed by Maiko Yamamoto & Conor Wylie and Technical Direction & Production Management for Attempts on her Life, Directed by Rose Plotek. While at NTS, Matt received mentorship from Dianna Choi, Andy Moro, Rob Denton, David Surette and Richard Feren.
