    Acting (2021)

Anna Morreale is a multidisciplinary actor and artist currently based in Montreal. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, they have always understood the importance of art in one's community and are eager to begin creating amongst the innovative artists who make up the Canadian theatre industry. Anna is consistently inspired by theatre that is unconventional, yet remains accessible to all. Their practice reflects this as well, through the employment of movement, performance art and collective creation as focal points in their work.

Before beginning their studies at NTS, Anna spent a semester abroad studying classical theatre at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in London, England. At LAMDA, Anna was fortunate enough to work with artists and mentors such as Robert Price, Diana Scrivener Blair, Stevie Rickard and Phil Edgerley. At NTS, Anna only furthered their passion for performance, learning from skilled artists such as Martha Burns, Tim Welham, Ann-Marie MacDonald, Jackie Maxwell, Brenda Bazinet, ahdri zhina mandiela, Rebecca Harper, Laurel Thomson and Joe De Paul. Some notable roles include: Hotspur in Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2 (Shakespeare) dir. Danielle Irvine, and Dorothee/Manke in Indecent (Vogel) dir. Mike Payette.

Outside of performing, Anna enjoys creating with other mediums such as film photography, collaging and poetry. They believe all forms of art are healing and essential to our humanity.

It is through our creativity that we may begin to liberate ourselves and those around us.
