Sadie is an Ottawa-born, Indian-Canadian actor, singer, dancer and creator. She will be graduating from the National Theatre School of Canada this spring and is looking forward to exploring new artistic projects with collaborators from all corners of the industry.
Her experience playing Nearly Wild in the National Arts Centre production of Concord Floral, directed by Erin Brubacher and Cara Spooner, was what inspired her to pursue theatre on a professional level, starting with training at NTS. In her time at NTS, she has worked with many professionals who have shaped her into the artist she is today. These include Alisa Palmer, Jackie Maxwell, Ian Watson, Brenda Bazinet, Rebecca Harper, Adam Lazarus and David Latham, among many others. Her most recent NTS productions have given her the opportunity to play Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet under the direction of Danielle Irvine, and Rose in Burning Vision under the direction of Mike Payette.
Aside from acting, Sadie has been training in classical music and musical theatre since she was very young, performing roles such as Gretel in Hansel and Gretel by Humperdinck as well as Catherine Hyatt in The Last 5 Years. She is also an emerging director currently in the process of workshopping her own mask piece based on a short story by Anton Chekov.
Sadie is passionate about participating in art that is accessible, challenging, joyful and vulnerable.
