ABOUT THE PLAY

A Chinese immigrant family is faced with everything Canada has to offer: hardship, opportunity, poutine, maternity leave, talking trees, and a mountain that won't stop growing.

Every year, the Playwriting graduating students create exciting new plays that their classmates design, produce and act in. The New Words Festival is always a wild ride, providing a fresh perspective on the world around us.
