Alia Omar is a Canadian-Somali actor born and raised in Etobicoke’s West End, specifically the Rexdale area. Alia hopes to share her love for theatre and film in an authentic and challenging way. As a first generation Muslim-Canadian artist, Alia hopes to lend her unique perspective and experience to every role she takes on.
During her training at the National Theatre School of Canada, Alia had the opportunity to work with some of Canada’s leading theatre artists, including Christine Quintana, Jiv Parasram, Eda Holmes, Jessica B Hill, Tim Welham and Alisa Palmer.
At the core of her artistry, Alia strives to be an integral part in giving voice to the voiceless - finding truthfulness in storytelling to inspire a true change within us all.
