Romi Shraiter is a Jewish-Canadian multidisciplinary artist born in Tel Aviv, Israel. Romi is a classically trained singer and has studied and performed opera, jazz, and musical theatre for over a decade. She is the co-founder and artistic director of Rose Coloured Theatre, a feminist theatre company focused on creating work by artists with lived experiences of misogyny. **Romi **has performed in Canada and internationally, and is excited to continue discovering new forms of creation and collaboration.
During her time at NTS, Romi has had the opportunity to work with incredible mentors such as Martha Burns (Play Study), Tim Welham **(Shakespeare), **ahdri zhina mandiela (Collective Creation), Anita Nittoly and David Chinchilla (Stage Combat), Brenda Bazinet (Naturalism), Jackie Maxwell (Chekhov), and Graeme Somerville and Marla McLean (Shaw Period Study). She has also performed in many productions including Plays over Days (dir. Alisa Palmer), The Most Offending Soul Alive - presented on zoom (dir. Danielle Irvine), and Indecent (dir. Mike Payette).
